Imagine living right around the corner from a European superstore that offers everything your heart desires. Kaufland offers convenience and immense variety, and if you live at Prospect 1838, it’s right on your doorstep! The giant European retailer offers a range of over 40,000 products. To put that into context, Woolies and Coles offer around 5,000 to 6,000 products. Adli stocks around 15,000. You’re totally spoiled for choice, not to mention you’ll have access to lavish European brands too. Unlike Costco, Kaufland does not require a membership card, meaning everyone is welcome to enjoy the shopping experience! Did we mention the liquor? Kaufland also sells liquor. With Churchill Road and Kaufland a stone’s throw away you’ll have everything you need every day of the week for any meal and any occasion. The construction of Kaufland is just another reason to look into a townhouse at Prospect 1838. The convenience of the location is unparalleled.
Soil has been turned to start building Australia’s first Kaufland store.
Builders have broken ground on the building site where retailer giant Kaufland will build their very first Australian supermarket. The thriving city of Prospect will be home to the multi-million-dollar development that will accommodate an extensively large supermarket, a food hall, an outdoor dining area and spaces for store tenants.
Kaufland to create hundreds of jobs for South Australians.
The construction of Kaufland has created over 150 construction jobs and up to 100 retail jobs upon its completion.
“We would like to thank everyone who has helped us achieve this incredible milestone. Kaufland Australia is proud to call Prospect home. To be building one of our first stores in Australia, here in Prospect, reflects our passion and desire to grow with this incredible State,” Julia Kern, Kaufland Australia Managing Director said.*
And it won’t stop here
The German supermarket giant plans to open at least 20 stores in Australia, with six locations in South Australia and Victoria already in the works.
“It’s moving along at a rapid pace, it’s certainly moving much faster than many of us expected,” Queensland University of Technology marketing professor Dr Gary Mortimer told news.com.au.**

If Adelaide is the heart of South Australia, Prospect is the pulse. Located just 3km from the city centre, Prospect has become South Australian’s favourite neighbourhood to live, shop, eat and play. Buzzing with hundreds of lifestyle stores and restaurants and in close proximity to public transport, parks and schools, it’s no wonder billion-dollar superstores like Kaufland are choosing Prospect as their home.
The Prospect Kaufland is expected to be completed in late 2020.
